Refund Policy
Last updated: September 30, 2026
Beecelo brings together three different kinds of transactions — Gigs, Tasks, and Digital Products — and refunds work a little differently for each, because the nature of what's being bought is different. This page explains how each one works in practice.
1. Digital Products
Digital products (ebooks, templates, courses, presets, and similar files) are delivered instantly on purchase, so sales are generally final. We do not offer refunds simply because you changed your mind after downloading a file.
That said, you're entitled to a refund if: the file is genuinely corrupted or won't open; what you received is substantially different from what was described on the listing; or you were accidentally charged twice for the same product. If any of these happen, message the seller first through the platform — most issues get sorted out quickly this way. If the seller doesn't respond within a reasonable time, or you can't reach an agreement, open a dispute and our team will review the listing, your purchase, and the evidence to decide on a refund to your wallet.
2. Gigs (Freelance Services)
Gig payments are held in escrow — the buyer's payment doesn't reach the seller until the buyer confirms they've received the agreed delivery. This gives both sides a real chance to sort things out before money changes hands:
- If the seller doesn't deliver, or delivers something that clearly doesn't match what was ordered, don't confirm delivery — instead, open a dispute. Our team will review the order details, messages, and any files exchanged.
- If we find the seller didn't deliver as agreed, the buyer's payment is refunded to their Beecelo wallet.
- If we find the delivery was reasonable and met the order requirements, the payment is released to the seller as normal.
- In some cases we may decide a partial refund is fairest, depending on the evidence.
Once a buyer has confirmed delivery, the gig is considered complete and payment is released to the seller — confirmation should only happen once you're actually satisfied with what you received.
3. Task Campaigns
Advertisers fund a task campaign upfront. Workers submit proof of completing the task, and the advertiser (or our team, depending on the campaign) reviews each submission:
- Approved submissions are paid to the worker's wallet — this payment is final.
- Rejected submissions are not paid. If a worker believes their submission was unfairly rejected, they can open a dispute, and our team will review the submitted proof against the task requirements.
- If an advertiser's campaign ends with unused budget (for example, fewer workers completed it than expected), remaining funds stay in the advertiser's wallet rather than being paid out — they're welcome to use it on a future campaign, or request a withdrawal like any other wallet balance.
4. Wallet Funding
Money you add to your wallet through Paystack is meant to be used on the platform — for buying products, ordering gigs, or funding a task campaign. We don't offer refunds of wallet funding back to your card or bank account, except where you were charged in error (for example, a duplicate charge from a failed payment). If that happens, contact us with your payment reference and we'll investigate.
5. How Refunds Are Paid
When we approve a refund, it's credited back to your Beecelo wallet, not reversed to your original card or bank account. From your wallet, you can use it for another purchase or request a withdrawal to your bank account, subject to the normal minimum withdrawal amount.
6. Raising a Dispute
Most issues are best resolved by messaging the other party directly first — many misunderstandings get cleared up this way without needing our involvement. If that doesn't work, use the dispute option on the relevant order or submission, and include as much detail and evidence as you can (screenshots, files, message history). Our decision on a dispute is made in good faith based on the evidence provided, and is final.
